Matthew launched his career as a director when his self-produced sci-fi concept piece, "OFFLINE" went viral, opening the door for his first feature film, “Higher Power,” a sci-fi thriller produced by "The Matrix" franchise veteran, Lorenzo di Bonaventura.
Santoro is currently developing his next movie, an adaptation of the comic book “We Kill Monsters” with Imagine Entertainment and White Horse Entertainment.
Before directing, Santoro was a creative consultant for Oscar-winning director Ron Howard and writer-director Akiva Goldsman.
He also created the story for the hit graphic novel “Breath of Bones” with writer Steve Niles, which is now being developed into a feature film. Santoro has used his talents as a visual effects artist for over a decade on movies like “300,” “X-Men,” and "The Incredible Hulk.”
He has also created stage graphics for the rock band TOOL and illustrated album artwork for Nine Inch Nails. Santoro's hands-on approach to production and understanding of the visual effects world has helped him develop a unique style that continues to defy creative boundaries.
